Digital x-rays are an updated dental imaging system that enables us to transfer images directly to our computer for storage. In just a few moments, we can view the digitally perfect images on a monitor screen.
We can then share the image so you see what we see, making it easier for you to understand why your treatment is necessary. Digital images are also safer for you because they significantly reduce the amount of radiation exposure.
Digital x-rays offer several other advantages over traditional film x-rays. For example, the software allows us to enhance and enlarge the image, which helps Dr. Ephram identify even the smallest changes, many of which may not be seen during a visual oral exam.
Since they’re stored digitally, we can also share your images electronically with a specialist or your insurance company. Finally, digital images are better for the environment since we don’t have to dispose of the potentially hazardous materials used with film x-rays.
Cavitron Ultrasonic Scaler
A Cavitron ultrasonic scaler is a very effective type of technology used for the treatment of periodontal disease. It consists of a small wand and a scaling tip that produces ultrasonic vibrations. In combination with a stream of water, these small, quick vibrations effectively remove tartar from your teeth. The quick action of the ultrasonic scaler also makes your treatment more comfortable and more efficient.
